ABOUT US

Continuing a 70–Year Legacy of Educational Excellence

Our Mission: Transforming Barriers Into Bridges

The Hazel I. Jackson Foundation was established January 19th, 2022, by daughter Councilwoman Cheryl Holland-Jones and granddaughter Amber Holland to honor the extraordinary life and lasting impact of Professor Emeritus Hazel I. Jackson—a pioneering educator who spent nine years breaking the color barrier in Lancaster County schools and a lifetime transforming barriers into bridges.

Through our community-powered approach, we ensure that every student—regardless of background or obstacles—inherits both the resources and the pioneering spirit needed to create their own educational breakthroughs and community impact.
